On April 9th, 2011 an EF4 tornado ripped through the town of Mapleton, IA.  There were no fatalities, but few minor injuries.  Many homes were destoryed or damaged and tree removal was one of the largest needs right after the storm.  NATL responded the week after the storm and provided aid to many hurting people.  Also helped the Aplington Parkersburg school with tool repair, work gloves, and tools to help with debris clean-up.  We have talked with volunteer coordinators and volunteers will be needed in a couple of weeks (after FEMA and insurance companies have done their assessments) to help with taking down houses and down the road rebuildin.  NATL plans to continue response as long as possible.
