HOW TO VOLUNTEER
When and How can I volunteer?
Volunteers are needed daily, weekly, and on a as needed or on call basis. Whether you can volunteer for one weekend, as needed or daily volunteering means taking time out of your day to serve someone else. You have been given a set of skills that is different from the person sitting next to you and choosing to use those skills to help someone else is what volunteering is all about.
Why Volunteer?
There is never a reason to say I have nothing to offer or I won't make a difference by myself. In fact as each person decides they can make a difference one more task is getting done to help someone else. God has great things planned for all of us and all he asks is that we take the talents he has blessed us with and put them into action. There are people in need everywhere you go. Helping those around you can be very rewarding for both you and the person you are helping. It is amazing how the littlest act of kindness can make a big impact on someone else's life. The smile on someone else's face while you are helping them out is priceless.
How can I get involved specifically with NATL?
To volunteer through NATL you will be asked to fill out our volunteer form and a volunteer survey sheet and depending on what area you decide to volunteer in and your current skills set, you may be required to receive some additional training. To serve in a disaster site you must have boots, long pants, protective eyewear, gloves, and a current tetanus shot. Professional training from our highly experienced staff is available for you and your team. Please contact us or view our events page for information on training.
How do I begin Furthering God's kingdom?
It's easy! You can start by praying with or for the person sitting next to you. We sometimes think we have to have a million dollars or go to a foreign land to do God's work. However, to further God's kingdom and spread God's Love for all His children, it starts with allowing Him to come into our lives and use us to help that soul next to us. Yes, it is just that easy!!
These are just a few ways you can make a difference and have a huge impact not only with growing in your walk with the Lord, but in helping your community.
1. PRAY for God's work to be done
2. Help us fundraise to be able to continue to serve others
3. Organize a Disaster Relief Team to help and we can train to aid locally or wherever you can help
4. Want to donate winter clothes to children who are in need?
5. How about organizing those in your church who also have a passion to serve but don't know where?
6. Organize those in your church with carpentry skills to work on projects for the disabled or elderly or struggling single mothers. Help them for the weekend or a couple hours a day with the things around the house that they may not be able to do.
7. How about organizing Bible study groups, or Prayer Warrior Teams and just pray for those who are in need of a little extra Prayer?
8. What about getting Christmas toys donated and wrapped for those families or children in need?
